With a programming lineup that included a new OUTDOOR IDAHO special and performances by Andrea Bocelli and Barbra Streisand, Idaho Public Television received 521 pledges that raised $70,544 during last weekend’s DecemberFest fundraising campaign.
“We are thrilled with the results of our DecemberFest pledge drive,” says Megan Griffin, IdahoPTV’s director of development. “The results are a true testament to the kind of programming we offer and the loyal, generous support of Idahoans and our audience in the surrounding areas. We also appreciate all of our volunteers, corporate and restaurant donors and viewers who helped make this weekend such a success.”
Program highlights included the airing of a GREAT PERFORMANCES presentation of Andrea Bocelli Live in Central Park on Friday night, and the premier of OUTDOOR IDAHO’s Salmon River Lodges & Legacies as well as Streisand’s One Night Only at the Village Vanguard on Sunday evening. Our phone bank was staffed on the Sunday night finale’ by Walmart volunteers.

The amount raised during DecemberFest, part of Idaho Public Television’s calendar year-end fundraising campaign, surpassed its $67,000 goal for the weekend drive and keeps Idaho’s PBS affiliate on track to reach its June 30, fiscal year-end goal of $3.3 million in private and corporate donations.
“We have a long way to go to reach our fiscal year-end goal by June 30, 2012,” Griffin says, “but we believe the support we garnered during DecemberFest is indicative of the support we enjoy in Idaho and gives us reason to be optimistic.”
