Desktop games are a great way to stimulate interest and motivate kids. Here you will find links to an assortment of interactive games and activities from the Internet for use in your classroom. They cover all of this season's topics and can be used in a computer lab, on an interactive whiteboard, or on individual computer systems. There are a variety of skill levels in these activities.
Flash, Java, Shockwave, Quicktime or other interactive plug-ins may be required. Each individual site will advise you as to the needs, as necessary.
Below you will find Desktop games and activities related to Sports Physiology, Skeleton, The Moon, Flight, Geology, Predators, Animal Migration, Idaho Ecosystems, and Butterflies.

If you currently use Notebook 10 by Smart Technologies or another interactive whiteboard you will be able to download the game for Butterflies, marked with a
to your system. If you do not have this software in your classroom, then you will not be able to access those specific activities. Due to the large size of this file, it is recommended that you select "Save" if prompted and then save the file to your personal computer or local network drive for future use.
Many of the activities shared here can be used on an interactive whiteboard or on a personal computer. But several activities are really better for use on the interactive whiteboard such as the one labeled as such for Butterflies.
