A planet with rings around it

The solar system is home to eight planets, one dwarf planet, the Sun and lots of other objects. What's really out there in our solar system? With special probes, scientists are learning a lot about the planets and space. Is there water on the moons of Saturn? Should Pluto be upgraded to planet status? Does life exist anywhere in the universe beyond earth?

The guest scientists for "Planets" are:

  • Jason Barnes, Assistant Professor of Astrophysics, University of Idaho
