Wildlife biologist Mike Scott grew up in Montana. His love for the outdoors led to his career as a wildlife biologist. He received both his undergraduate and Master's Degree from the University of Montana in Missoula doing research on rocky mountain elk. He continued his research career at the University of Idaho in Moscow working on elk and moose. In 1985, Mike was hired by the Idaho Department of Fish & Game to lead a caribou research project in Idaho's panhandle.

In the course of his career, Mike has worked with several species from bighorn sheep to mountain lions, spending the bulk of his time in the Salmon Region. He now heads up the wildlife research unit in the southwest portion of our state focusing on mule deer research.
