Dave Cannamela "Former" Fisheries Biologist (if there is such a thing) Dave Cannamela grew up in Connecticut. Through his love of trout fishing he became interested in trout and salmon. He was particularly captured by the biology of and history of the Atlantic salmon in New England. Dave's fascination with trout and salmon led to his career as a fisheries biologist. He did his undergraduate work at the University of Connecticut and earned his master's degree from Murray State University after transferring from Idaho State University. Dave has been with the Idaho Fish and Game Department for 14 years. He spent his first 11 years as a fisheries biologist working on salmon and steelhead. In February of 2001, Dave took over as the superintendent at the MK Nature Center. Dave now pursues his passion for natural resources, kids, and coaching in the education realm. According to Dave the Nature Center "job" is a perfect fit. "Hey, I get to hang around with kids and wildlife, and I get to teach." Dave and his staff look forward to making many improvements to what is already a great facility. Dave, his wife and three kids live in Boise. Back
