Baker Biography
Leslie
Baker grew up in Maryland and has always been fascinated by geology
and astronomy. She earned a bachelor's degree in geology from Rice
University and masters' and Ph.D. degrees in geology from Brown
University. She has taught classes on many topics in environmental
geology, but most enjoys teaching planetary science. She is now
a research scientist at the University of Idaho in Moscow. She is
currently working on research related to chemical and geological
evidence for water on Mars, as well as on projects relating to soil
chemistry on Earth. She is married and has a 2 1/2 year old daughter
who likes rocks.
