Jerome Hansen is the Regional Wildlife Habitat Manager in Lewiston, Idaho. He has worked for Idaho Department of Fish and Game for over 20 years, including some wonderful time in Boise and Pocatello.
Jerome grew up on a small farm in eastern Kansas, raising pigs, cattle, and cane!! Growing up, he surrounded himself with pet rabbits, coyotes, raccoons, and pigeons. Kids, don’t do this!! Jerome graduated from Emporia State University with a degree in biology, and then traveled east to attend graduate school at West Virginia University. There he finished his master’s degree in wildlife management, studying wildlife use of spring seeps in the Appalachians.
Jerome worked for Kansas Fish and Game for a while before moving west to Idaho. He studied wolves for two years, and then settled into working on habitat issues across the state. Jerome and his wife JoAnn spend most of their spare time trying to keep up with their two teenage kids.
