Frank Lester

Frank Lester has been with the Idaho Transportation Department, Division of Aeronautics, for over 10 years and specializes in public outreach. As the Division Safety Program Manager, he provides information for Idaho's many registered pilots through safety seminars, mountain flying clinics, safety articles and safety meetings. He is the editor of the Division's statewide newsletter, "Rudder Flutter."

As the Division's Aviation Education Coordinator, Frank provides information on aviation to the public. He also provides career information to high schools through career days, career fairs and the annual Aviation Career Exploration (ACE) Academy. He visits schools to talk about flight and organizes workshops for teachers to demonstrate the benefits of using aviation in the classroom, expecially in science and math. In these workshops he provides the teachers with classroom-ready activities and lesson plans that align with national and state standards. Frank produces a small, online newsletter for teachers called "Flightpaths" and speaks at various teacher in-services about aviation in the classroom.
