Force and Motion
Jan 15, 2008A force is basically a push or a pull. Forces like gravity, inertia, and momentum affect everything. Sir Isaac Newton developed his laws of motion to explain how forces act. What are these laws? And why do roller coasters and bumper cars illustrate Newton's laws?
To answer your questions, D4K host Joan Cartan-Hansen will be joined by Steve Shropshire, Professor of Physics from Idaho State University and Jim Dull, Associate Professor of Physics from the College of Idaho.
Students can send their questions through e-mail to D4K@idahoptv.org, fax them in before the show to (208) 373-7245 or call in live during the program to (800) 973-9800. Students who send in a question are eligible to win a DVD player and DVDs for their classroom. Check out the details!
