Qualifications: 25 years of age, U.S. Citizen, Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, two year Idaho resident
Term of office: Four years
Salary: $85,800 in 2007, $88,374 in 2008, $91,025 in 2009, $93,756 in 2010
Duties: The State Superintendent serves as an ex-officio member of the State Board of Education. The State Superintendent serves as chief executive officer of the State Department of Education and exercises general supervision of the Department. The State Superintendent provides technical and professional assistance and advice to all school districts in reference to all aspects of education including finances, buildings, equipment, administration, organization of school districts, curriculum and instruction, transportation of pupils and interpretation of school laws and state regulations.
