Term of office: Four years
Duties: The State Superintendent of Public Instruction is a constitutional officer of the State of Idaho. He serves as an ex–officio member of the State Board of Education and serves on the Board of Land Commissioners. He serves as chief executive officer of the State Department of Education and exercises general supervision of the Department. The State Superintendent provides technical and professional assistance and advice to all school districts in reference to all aspects of education including finances, buildings, equipment, administration, organization of school districts, curriculum and instruction, transportation of pupils and interpretation of school laws and state regulations.
