SCIENCE TREK Takes a Look at ‘Muscles’ Dec. 17

This month on SCIENCE TREK, host Joan Cartan-Hansen discusses muscles and the muscular system with Dr. Tony Joseph, a sports medicine physician at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. He was the head team physician for the Idaho State University athletic department for 17 years.

The monthly science show for elementary school-aged children airs Tuesday, December 17, at 2:00/1:00 p.m. MT/PT; it repeats Sunday, December 22, at 8:00/7:00 a.m. and Monday, December 23, at 2:00/1:00 p.m. MT/PT.

Students can watch SCIENCE TREK over the air or on the show’s website. They can send their questions through e-mail to ScienceTrek@idahoptv.org or submit video questions recorded on their smartphones or webcams. Teachers can also borrow a video camera from IdahoPTV and record questions. Students who send in a question are eligible to win prizes for their classroom. The SCIENCE TREK website offers podcasts of programs, video shorts, full episodes and special Web-exclusive programming.
