Live coverage of the Idaho Legislature from IDAHO IN SESSION is just around the corner with “Legislature Live,” which is scheduled to begin its on-air and online coverage of the 2014 session Monday, January 6.
IDAHO IN SESSION is the title of IdahoPTV's overall coverage of all three branches of state government. Beginning January 6 at approximately noon/11 a.m. MT/PT, IDAHO IN SESSION “Legislature Live” will again provide House floor action live on Learn/Create, subchannel 3, and the Senate on World, subchannel 4. Anyone with over-the-air reception of IdahoPTV's four digital channels can view the gavel-to-gavel coverage. The channels also are carried by some cable companies across the state. Coverage can also be viewed online at idahoptv.org/insession on a computer, iOS and most Android devices.
According to Jeff Tucker, IdahoPTV’s director of content services, the introduction of a new digital media archive site, built by the Idaho Legislative Services Office, will contain the media files from chamber sessions and legislative committee meetings as well as agendas and meeting minutes when available. “This will give Idaho citizens even better access to the work being done at the Capitol,” he says.
The files will appear as part of the Idaho Legislature’s website at www.legislature.idaho. gov/ but are also available through idahoptv.org/insession.
Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee (JFAC) and other meetings in the Statehouse's Lincoln Auditorium are live video streamed. This year East Wing 42 is also equipped for live video streaming. In addition, all Garden Level committee rooms in the House and Senate wings of the Capitol are wired for audio-only streaming.
IDAHO IN SESSION is a partnership of IdahoPTV, the Department of Administration, and the Legislative Services Office.
