Idaho Public Television earned eight Northwest Regional Emmy Nominations, announced Friday in Seattle and Boise.
The nominations for the IdahoPTV statewide system include two nominations for two different OUTDOOR IDAHO productions and one for a program special about the Japanese American World War II experience and Idaho.
Also nominated are a video feature about astronaut Barbara Morgan and a one-hour DIALOGUE special about Morgan. The other one-hour DIALOGUE nominated focuses on the Open Idaho project conducted in association with Idahoans for Openness in Government (IDOG).
Two nominations for D4K include one that honors the television series for elementary students, and one for the D4K Web site (idahoptv.org/dialogue4kids).
The 2007 nominations, producer, and categories in the Program Achievement area are:
- “Barbara Morgan,” a video piece, Marcia Franklin producer, Human Interest — News Series.
- D4K, the series, Joan Cartan-Hansen producer and Sue Nass of Idaho Fish and Game Department contributing producer, Children/Youth (12 and under).
- THE IDAHO HOMEFRONT: OF CAMPS AND COMBAT, Jim Peck producer, Historic/Cultural — Program Special.
- DIALOGUE “Open Idaho,” Joan Cartan-Hansen producer, Politics/Government — Program/Special.
- OUTDOOR IDAHO “Motorized Idaho,” John Crancer producer, Sports — Program Series.
- DIALOGUE “Barbara Morgan,” Marcia Franklin producer, Interview/Discussion — Program/Special.
- OUTDOOR IDAHO: A MIDDLE FORK JOURNEY,” Bruce Reichert executive producer, Informational/Instructional — Program/Special.
Nominated in the Advanced Media is D4K Web Site, Joan Cartan-Hansen producer and Sue Nass of Idaho Fish and Game Department contributing producer, Children/Youth/Teens.
Northwest Regional Emmy winners will be announced June 7 in Seattle. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Northwest Regional chapter sponsors the awards for local and regional program material by television stations in Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Alaska.
