Through analysis of President Lincoln's attitudes and actions before and during the Civil War, and correspondence, speeches, legislative orders, newspaper articles, and letters written by African Americans, enslaved and free, workshop participants debate the influences prompting Emancipation. Genetics of Development"  Organisms as different as flies, fish, and humans share a set of genes, known as a genetic toolkit, which guides development. This session presents new perspectives on the remarkable similarity in these molecules and processes and the ethical questions involved in this research. [P]

Afterward, Roger helps a homeowner repair a cracked stone walkway. [P]
