Invitation to World Literature  "Things Fall Apart"  In this foundational modern African novel, Chinua Achebe's story follows the lives of people trying to understand which belief systems deserve their loyalty. The protagonist, Okonkwo is a tribal leader who battles neighboring villages, the English, and his own demons in early colonial Nigeria. [P]

Connecting with the Arts: A Workshop for Middle Grades Teachers  "Workshop 3. How Do We Collaborate?"  This program illustrates a variety of teaching partnerships. Participants will see how teachers integrating the arts can benefit from collaborating with fellow teachers, partnering with visiting artists, and drawing on community resources. [P]
