Kids on ropes course

"Desert Therapy" follows the lives of five teens as they make their way through a 21-day program at SUWS, a therapeutic wilderness camp.

Therapeutic wilderness camps generally use a different approach with troubled children than so-called "boot camps," which tend to be more militaristic. The industry as a whole, though, is grappling with issues such as safety and treatment methods.

Producer Marcia Franklin and photographer Jay Krajic visited the camp each week to check on the childrens' progress.

A video of this program is available to order.
