Cross Country Skiing

cross country skiing

Miles of groomed cross-country ski trails offer skiers multiple choices for scenic winter excursions in Priest Lake country. And for the more adventurous there are huge areas available for backcountry skiing.

In winter, the Priest Lake Golf Course off Highway 57 becomes the Nordic Sports Center. From the center you can access groomed trail systems at Hanna Flats and Hills Resort. On the east side of the lake at Priest Lake State Park’s Indian Creek unit you can find another group of gorgeous groomed trails.

“One nice thing about the trails at Indian Creek is the easy access, they’re not way off the beaten path. They’re enjoyable for the whole family, all of the trails are pretty flat so everybody can try it…if you can walk you can ski. It’s fun, it’s inexpensive plus the health aspects of it. It’s a nice workout where you can harmonize with the wilderness around you.”
