Owyhee Canyonlands Wilderness
The Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009 designated 517,000 acres of wilderness and 316 miles of wild and scenic rivers. The legislation also authorizes acquisition of seven public rights-of-way across private lands. These rights-of-way provide access to significant federal lands that were previously difficult to reach because they were surrounded by private parcels. The Act created six separate southwestern Idaho wilderness areas:
