“Idaho, An Angler’s Paradise” airs the evening of December 8. John Crancer, Pat Metzler, and Bruce Reichert, have put together an entire show devoted to fishing! This hour long program takes viewers to some gorgeous parts of the state, including Coeur d'Alene, Henrys Fork, and the central Idaho mountains. The show airs during the station’s one day mini pledge drive.

IDAHO REPORTS begins its coverage of the Idaho Legislature, starting January 10, with reporters Jim Peck and Marcia Franklin doing the honors this year. IDAHO REPORTS continues to be the state’s most in-depth coverage of the state’s legislative session.

Twenty years is a long time for a television program. To honor this milestone, the OUTDOOR IDAHO crew is preparing a two hour show, to air during our Pledge drive in March of 2003.

There will, of course, be the mandatory retrospective of favorite segments. But there will also be a lot of new material, including a look at the evolution of the show, profiles of interesting folks, segments on wildlife issues, a campfire discussion on how Idaho has changed in the last twenty years, and even an ode to hats! And you'll meet all the folks who have persevered to make OUTDOOR IDAHO the longest running outdoor program in the West!

An hour long program, “The Life & Legends of Sacagawea,” airs this March. John Crancer, Alan Austin, Pat Metzler, and independent producer Lori Joyce have spent several weeks this past summer visiting Montana, North Dakota, and of course Idaho, in search of the "real" Bird Woman. The show will feature several re-creations. One, on the abduction of Sacagawea by the Hidatsa Indians, was staged and taped in early September, using Lemhi Shoshoni and Blackfoot Indians on horseback. Quite dramatic stuff!

Jim Peck and Alan Austin are working on an OUTDOOR IDAHO show on their difficult climb in the Grand Tetons. They climbed the mountain with a group of women who were inspired by stories of breast cancer victims. That show will air in February.

DIALOGUE FOR KIDS has begun another season of letting school kids ask the questions of the experts. November's topic is Dams. The topics for the December 17 and January 21 shows are Flight and Elk. The shows air at 2 p.m. Mtn during the school day. Other topics for this school year include Spy Technology, Nutrition, and the ever popular Dinosaurs. Joan Cartan-Hansen is the host for this show.

“Idaho Rhapsody,” featuring an hour of beautiful scenery and inspirational Americana music, aired Sunday, November 10. No narration, just great music and scenes from Idaho. Jim Peck and Alan Austin produced this special program. Based upon tape sales, the show was a big hit with viewers. During each Sunday in November and early December, viewers can call in to purchase one of our special programs, like “Aerial Tapestry,” “Idaho Edens,” or “The River of No Return.”
