Find out when the committee is meeting. This is public information and can be found on the Idaho legislature's web page or by calling the legislature or a group involved in the legislation in which you're interested.

Arrive early for the hearing. Ask the secretary for a sign-up sheet and put your name on it. Indicate whether you will be speaking for or against the bill.

When you testify, address the committee. Say "Madam (or Mister) Chairman, my name is ______________." It is best to be brief when you testify. If you are asked questions, go through the chairman before you answer. Say "Madam (or Mister) Chairman and Representative (or Senator), I think..."

Even if you don't want to testify, you can always come and watch a hearing!
