Episode Description
Saturday, Jun 23, 2018 - 6:00 PM    "Curbing The School-To-Prison Pipeline" Across the nation, school districts are beginning to re-think harsh discipline rules known as "zero tolerance" policies, which often lead to students being arrested for minor violations. Experts say these policies have not only disproportionately affected students of color, but also helped create a "school-to-prison pipeline" that persists today. In Philadelphia, school and police officials have cooperated to rework their policies in an effort to reduce that trend, leading to fewer student arrests, lower rates of recidivism and improved school safety.
