Host Carl Safina is on the island of Pemba, part of the Zanzibar chain off the east African coast. The island's reefs and lagoons, once threatened by resort development, are now managed by, and for, the local villages' fishermen. Safina fishes with them and learns about their traditions of stewardship of the world and its resources. G
