"The Great Plow Up"
This film by Ken Burns chronicles the environmental catastrophe of the Great Plains during the 1930s. The frenzied wheat boom of the early 20th-century that plows the prairie lands becomes the victim of a decade-long drought that turns those lands into deserts and unleashes a pattern of massive, deadly dust storms.
