In the Afro-influenced coastal city of Salvador, Marrilees Parker cooks a spiny lobster and a fish "moqueca" with a popular TV chef. She searches the rainforest for Brazil nuts, exotic fruits and herbal medicines, then heads to Recife, where Portuguese flavors dominate. She attends a barbecue with gauchos and ends her journey in Rio de Janeiro. G
