Charles Durning introduces this film adaptation of an Ambrose Bierce story, which follows Confederate marksman Jerome Searing, who has become a methodical killing machine, sparing no one in his path. Behind enemy lines, Searing becomes trapped, pinned by fallen beams, in a ruined building - his own loaded and cocked rifle resting just inches from his head. He succumbs to terror and descends into a nightmarish journey through his mind. G
