We asked each of our producers to choose a favorite Idaho Getaway. Bruce Reichert found solitude on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River with a September float trip. John Crancer swung into the saddle on a century old guest ranch in eastern Idaho, helping herd cattle. Joan Cartan-Hansen sought a more urban habitat with her son and daughter, exploring resort opportunities in northern Idaho. Jim Peck crossed the Bitterroot Mountains, in the footsteps of Lewis & Clark. And Marcia Franklin found timeless outdoor adventures in the Sawtooth valley. Along the way, each of them found ways to break free from the ordinary, in a state that's known for its adventurous spirit. G
