Saturday, Feb 22, 2014 - 12:00 AM    Although 65 acres of downtown Boston is reduced to rubble by fire in 1872, Fire Chief John S. Damrell keeps loss of life to a minimum and saves densely populated neighborhoods. His leadership and vision lead to a national crusade to improve firefighting organizations, and initiate building codes and political coalitions to stop the urban conflagrations of the late 1800s. G
