"The Desert of Forbidden Art"
Igor Savitsky travels thousands of miles to rescue the work of politically volatile artists that the Soviet government was intent on destroying, and then saves this treasure trove of art by "hiding" it in a museum in the desert in Uzbekistan. The filmmakers weave the cultural and political context of the times, juxtaposing images from the collection with rare Soviet archival film and stills. G
