A team of retired former detectives with over 80 years service between them and three very distinct personalities is recruited to re-examine unsolved crimes. The squad is headed up by Sandra Pullman - a detective in disgrace after bungling a hostage situation. Adapting to the new touchy-feely 21st-century police strategies - not to mention working under a tough woman with her future on the line - isn't easy, as the three discover with plenty of comic results. From the discovery of a new motive in the killing of a college lecturer, to the tracing of a missing child, the team . . .

Brought in to reinvestigate one of his original cases - the disappearance of teenager Georgia Wright - McAndrew's policing methods raise a few eyebrows. And he has a few tricks up his sleeve that make Brian and Gerry look like slaves to the rule book. G
