Today's forensics are in a state of crisis with few established scientific standards, no central oversight and poor regulation of examiners. Innocent men and women have been convicted on faulty forensic evidence. Of the more than 250 inmates exonerated by DNA testing in the last 10 years, more than half of the wrongful convictions stemmed from poorly executed forensics. G
