"Parrots in the Land of Oz"
Parrots are the most conspicuous and exotic bird of Australia. There is the drumming palm cockatoo in tropical rainforests and the red female eclectus parrot of the far north who keeps a harem of males. The golden-shouldered parrot in the woodlands excavates a nest in a termite mound while the prolific budgerigars live in the deserts. G
