Los Angeles's meat-centric Italian chop house, chi SPACCA, sets the stage with a monster pork tomahawk dusted with fennel pollen and pepper and grilled over almond wood by chef Ryan DeNicola. D

Rough Cut with Fine Woodworking   In the new season of Rough Cut with Fine Woodworking, host Tom McLaughlin crafts a refined, clean, and light Shaker-inspired hall table out of gorgeous cherry using mostly hand tools. From the elegant tapered legs, to the undercut beveled edge along the top, this table offers a chance to get back to basics with extraordinary results. Techniques include using a hand plane, skimming, creating basic mortise and tenons, and chiseling pocket holes. D

Joseph Rosendo's Travelscope  "Ontario's Central Counties - Multi-Cultural Adventures"  Ontario's Central Counties offers a mosaic of historic gristmill villages, verdant farmlands and towns that thrive because of their multi-cultural population. During his Central Counties explorations Joseph cycles through the rich Durham farmlands on an agri-tourism adventure that includes fruit wine tasting and a visit to Tyrone Mill, one of only two operating mills in Ontario. In the York region he steps back in time at the Black Creek Pioneer Village for a taste of what life was like in the early days of Canada and fast forwards into the present at the Taste of Asia Festival in Markham. Samantha Brown's Places to Love  "Hill Country, Texas"  There is a big difference between Texas and Texas Hill Country, and Samantha finds this out quickly when she takes to the road exploring these legendary lands in search of her favorite wildflower, the Texas bluebonnet. In her quest, Samantha visits a wildflower seed farm that produces fields of stunning wildflowers, gets to taste fine cuisine at a farm-to-table German bistro and discovers a tucked-away weingarten serving locally produced Hill Country wines. Back on the road, Samantha frequents the oldest bakery in Texas, made famous for its 100-year strudel recipe, and finally Samantha gets to shake a leg -arriving at historic Gruene Hall, Texas' oldest dance hall. In the Equipment Corner, expert Adam Ried reviews silicone spatulas, and then test cook Erin McMurrer makes the ultimate chocolate sheet cake with milk chocolate frosting. D

Today, tandoori, Indian barbecue, is enjoyed from New Delhi to New Caledonia to New York. This show features tandoori salmon (washed with garlic water and marinated in spices, yogurt, and chickpea flour). D

Rudy Maxa's World  "South Africa: Cape Town"  Rudy is at the nexus of cultures, waking up in a cosmopolitan city, spending the afternoon with penguins, riding a funicular to the edge of a continent, and watching the sun set from a beach. He seeks out the natural wonders surrounding the city and the contrasts between the urbane waterfront and the nearby townships.G
