Chef's Life  "A Food Truck and a Pear Tree"  Vivian's cookbook delivery sparks emotions as the reality of wheeling a food truck around the country sets in. The crew does a practice run at the farmer's market, serving up a dish with pear relish that pleases most--but not Ms. Lillie. D

Joanne Weir's Plates and Places  "For The Love of Figs"  Joanne visits a California fig orchard and learns about both fresh and dried figs. Back in the kitchen, she makes spiked fig jam and a fig tart. Recipes: Goat cheese tart with figs and prosciutto; Fig jam with Armagnac. D

This Old House  "Charleston Southern Roots"  A new foundation starts out back while out front Roger determines if a crepe myrtle can be saved. Kevin visits Fort Sumter. The single house mantel and windows are restored and the old kitchen house will be connected to the main house. D

Globe Trekker  "Nigeria"  Adela Ucar kicks off her visit in the capital of Lagos, an anarchic and electric city with a vital nightlife. Next she journeys to Yoruba Land in the southwest, thought to be the site of the Queen of Sheba's tomb. Adela later meets witch doctors in Oyo, travels to the historic walled cities in the north, hunts for bargains in the ancient Kurmi Market, visits the traditional Fulani village of Chafe and encounters a rare mountain gorilla in Nigeria's eastern highlands. D

Lidia's Kitchen  "Cold Weather Comforts"  When it's cold outside Lidia's kitchen kicks into high gear. The oven is on and the stovetop is always lit. On today's menu, she prepares her turkey meatloaf with mushroom sauce - a real family favorite that is smothered in mushroom sauce. D

Cook's Country  "Smoky Barbecue Favorites"  Test cook Ashley Moore makes host Bridget Lancaster an authentic recipe for Texas thick-cut smoked pork chops. Tasting expert Jack Bishop challenges Bridget to tasting of hot dogs. Bridget shows Julia Collin Davison the secrets to making the perfect backyard barbeque beans. D

Simply Ming  "Jamie Bissonnette"  James Beard Award-winning Chef Jamie Bissonnette, co-chef/partner of Ken Oringer, swings by Ming's loft to turn up the heat with eggplant. While Jamie prepares a spicy shrimp with Thai eggplant, Ming cooks up eggplant with an Asian twist - a tasty, spicy Sichuan eggplant dish called Yu Xiang Qie Zi. These are two spicy eggplant dishes you won't want to miss. D

Kitchen Wisdom of Cecilia Chiang  "Passing on the Wisdom"  This episode is all about Cecilia as a mentor and passing on her kitchen wisdom. "Cecilia is a perfect mentor because she gives perfect advice," says legendary chef Jeremiah Tower. She gave Julia Child cooking lessons and was Alice Water's mentor in the years leading up to Chez Panisse. D

Born to Explore with Richard Wiese  "Tanzania: Summit On Mt. Kilimanjaro"  Join Richard Wiese as he journeys to Tanzania to climb the highest mountain on the African continent - Mount Kilimanjaro. With friends and family, Richard sets out on a seven-day climb to the summit at over 19,000 feet. He follows the same path he took with his father at age 11, more than 40 years ago. D
