"A Necessary War"
(December 1941-December 1942) Inhabitants of four towns recall their communities on the eve of the conflict and the attack on Pearl Harbor. Their young men enter the armed services. Americans are caught up in the Japanese onslaught in the Philippines. At home, 110,000 Japanese Americans on the West Coast are forcibly relocated to internment camps.
