Growing a Greener World  "Organic Seed Saving; More Important and Challenging than Ever"  As heirloom seeds continue to lose ground to modern hybrids, habitat destruction and carless stewardship, many of these treasured varieties of the past are lost for ever. Now, with the threat of cross-pollination from genetically modified plants, preserving true, untainted organic seeds is not only important, it's vital to ensuring the ongoing supply of non-altered plants and a critical link to preserving our past. In this episode, we get a hands-on lesson in saving seeds and learn more about how to preserve the integrity of true organic seed stock. D

Hands On Crafts for Kids  "Animals - Invertebrates - Arthropods - Insects"  Our next classification of animals is insects. These are invertebrates which mean they do not have backbone but they are arthropods which mean they have a hard exoskeleton or tough coating on the outside of their body. Their body has 3 parts: the head, thorax and abdomen. D

Mexico -- One Plate at a Time with Rick Bayless  "Tijuana Round Table"  There's a long heritage of good food in Tijuana: It has an amazing taco culture and is the birthplace of the Caesar salad. Today, Tijuana boasts one of the top culinary schools in the country and some of the best chefs in Mexico. Rick and three fellow food lovers dine at the ultra-modern Mision 19 located in Mexico's newest Leed Gold Certified building. D

Globe Trekker  "Globe Trekker Special: World War II in the Pacific Islands"  Jumping across the Pacific Ocean, the journey begins at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Trekkers explore the war's traces in Micronesia, New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Bikini Island, the Philippines, Saipan and Tinian. The episode concludes with a visit to the Nagasaki Peace Park in Japan.G

TEACH future generations about the importance of preserving the earth with gardening tips for kids from lifestyle co-host Sissy Biggers. DIG up some worms at the Water Conservation Garden at California's Cuyamaca College with Jamie's advice on vermiculture: worm-driven composting. D

The Woodwright's Shop  "Thomas Day, Cabinetmaker"  In the days of slavery, Thomas Day, a free black cabinetmaker in North Carolina, was one of the most respected artisans in the South. We'll look beneath the veneer on his furniture and discover his intriguing architectural work. D

Woodturning Workshop  "Desktop Water Fountain"  Tim gets wet behind the ears as he creates a three level desktop water fountain out of bowl blanks. You will learn what type of water pump to use and how to use epoxy for a beautiful waterproof finish. D
