Dialogue  "Kati Marton"  Marcia Franklin talks with author and former journalist Kati Marton. During the interview, taped at the 2011 Sun Valley Writers' Conference, Franklin talks with Marton about her experience researching her most recent work, Enemies of the People. The book chronicles Marton's search to learn more about her parents, who were imprisoned by the Hungarian government during the Cold War for their work as reporters for American news outlets.G

Bluegrass Underground  "The Del McCoury Band"  Band patriarch Del McCoury has impeccable traditional credentials, including an early-'60s stint with Bill Monroe, the Father of Bluegrass, a 2010 National Heritage Fellowship and 2011 induction into the Bluegrass Hall of Fame. But the Grammy-winning singer/guitarist who personifies the "High Lonesome" sound also takes it to new frontiers playing with everyone from jam band Phish to the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. McCoury's band features sons Ronnie (mandolin) and Rob (banjo), with fiddler Jason Carter and bassist Alan Bartram. D

Music Voyager  "Israel: Songs from the Holy Land"  Music Voyager host Jacob Edgar travels to Jerusalem and northern Israel to discover the sights and sounds of a region rich with ancient history and religious significance. Israel is a land of contrasts and conflicts: between tradition and modernity, war and peace, spirituality and secularism. The popular band Hadag Nahash blends hip-hop, funk and soul with politically expedient Hebrew lyrics to draw attention to the complex issues facing Israeli society. D

Call The Midwife   The whole Poplar community pulls together to prepare for the annual Summer Fete. The introduction of a baby show involves the midwives, especially Trixie, who must secure a celebrity judge. At the ante-natal clinic, Jenny meets Nora, an impoverished mother of eight, who is distraught that she may soon have another mouth to feed.G
