Landscapes Through Time with David Dunlop  "Francesco Guardi's Venice"  David travels to many magical locations in Venice that were painted by the great 18th century Venetian landscape painter, Francesco Guardi (1712-1783). David creates a pen and ink drawing and wash of the beautiful baroque church, Santa Maria della Salute, discussing Francesco Guardi's use and understanding of perspective. He then travels to Guardi's home district of the Cannaregio and paints an oil demonstration of the same canal scene painted by Guardi and the famous painter, Canaletto, exploring Guardi's spirited brushstrokes and expressive skies. D

Chef's Life  "Tomatoes....You Say Heirloom, I Say Old Timey"  Mary Vaughn shows Chef Vivian the old-timey way to can tomatoes. Vivian prepares for a Southern Foodways Alliance luncheon at the restaurant where food enthusiasts from around the country are coming to study BBQ, and Vivian plans to serve them the "ultimate tomato sandwich.". D

Nigella: At My Table   Nigella Lawson serves up five more irresistibly easy dishes, recipes which combine the comfort of the familiar and the exuberance of the new. Nigella rustles up her favorite weekend breakfast special, wonderfully light sure-fire-success waffles. Rick Steves' Europe  "Germany's Hamburg and the Luther Trail"  Hamburg, Germany's mighty port city has risen from the ashes of World War II with a gleaming new skyline and a brisk creative energy. From there, Rick visits the great historic sights of Martin Luther and the Reformation (Erfurt, Wittenberg, and Wartburg Castle) before finishing in the capital of Franconia: wine-loving Wurzburg. D

Burt Wolf: Travels & Traditions  "On The Road In America, Part 2"  In the second program in ON THE ROAD IN AMERICA, titled PACK UP YOUR TROUBLES, Burt continues the story. This time it's around the theme of wars and crisis, covering the two world wars and the depression. Wars often move people around. D

Lidia's Kitchen  "Eggs - All Different Ways"  It's an episode devoted to the fresh, simple egg, and it highlights some of Lidia's all-time favorites: stracciatella: a simple chicken stock laced with ribbons of egg and tender spinach; frittata with ricotta: a luscious frittata filled with ricotta, tomatoes, onions and basil; baked eggplant and eggs: a baked dish showing off of one of summer's best vegetables. Back in the kitchen she cooks sea bass with briny capers and a dash of minerally Santorini wine and serves the delectable fish dish with fava, a velvety yellow split pea puree classic in Santorini. D
