Quilting Arts  "Texture"  Look beyond fabric to add depth and texture. Teacher and fiber artist Libby Williamson adds color and patterns to found papers and collages them onto canvas or vintage linens. Artist and quilter Laurie Russman takes quilts into the third dimension by adding surface elements and thread painting. D

Paint This With Jerry Yarnell  "Whisper of Wilderness, Part 3"  In this episode, Jerry shows his viewers how to use the script brush to paint in the small bushy trees in the middle-ground and then shows how to paint in the middle-ground trees. Next Jerry shows how to paint in the two large trunks on the right side and explains the importance of proper proportion. He then finishes by highlighting the back- and middle- ground areas of the road and shows how to paint in the hot spots on the grassy areas. D

Chef's Life  "Muscadine Time"  Ben, Vivian and the twins pick muscadine grapes at a small local vineyard while learning the history of this native grape. Vivian visits Mike and Gator, her grape suppliers, and makes homemade wine. Back at the restaurant, Vivian makes a pizza with mulled muscadines, and Ben tests this new creation during their first stressful pizza night in the wine shop. D

Nigella: At My Table   Nigella cooks more warming, comforting and inspirational recipes. Perfect for winding down at the end of a long day, there's a cozy supper of chicken with red grapes and Marsala, followed by a deeply divine sunken chocolate amaretto cake, with crumbled amaretti cream dolloped alongside. For a dish that's as simple to make as it is rewarding to eat, there's Nigella's mussels with pasta, and just as delicious is her autumnal radicchio, chestnut and blue cheese salad. D

Equipment expert Adam Ried reveals his top pick for manual pasta machines, and then gadget critic Lisa McManus reviews restaurant tools that every home cook should use. Finally, test cook Becky Hays makes Bridget an Italian classic: Tuscan shrimp and beans. D

Simply Ming  "Langoustine & Tomatoes with Chef Axel Bjorn Claussen"  It wouldn't be a visit to Iceland without experiencing its geothermal energy. Ming visits Freidheimar, a tomato greenhouse in Iceland that runs off of geothermal energy to make over 370 tons of tomatoes a year. Ming picks tomatoes off the vine to bring to Fishmarket Restaurant in downtown Reykjavik where he meets chef Axel Bjorn Claussen to make some explosive cocktails along with his sous chef Kirill Ter-Martirosov. Food Over 50  "Red Meat & Cholesterol"  This episode introduces good health and nutrition to the meals we eat, and sets the theme for the entire first series with one of the most common dietary dilemmas in America, the issue of red meat and cholesterol. The savory and taste-temping recipes, including bitter/sweet steak salad and roast lamb with chimichurri and ratatouille, puts into proportion how much is too much red meat and whether dietary cholesterol is actually the health threat we were convinced it was decades ago. In this episode, David travels to his seaside getaway in Scotland for a beachside lamb barbecue - Hebridean-style - before heading back to his studio kitchen near Palm Springs to roast the lamb home-style.
