Art quilter Enid Gjelten Weichselbaum translates ancient Norse sagas into story quilts. Quiltmaker Pepper Cory celebrates Far East culture with patchwork and sashiko to create wrapping cloths called furoshiki. D

Paint This With Jerry Yarnell  "Yellowstone Falls, Part 4"  In this session, Jerry shows how to underpaint the very foreground rock and cliff formations. Then he shows how to add the cap on top of the formations. He also shows how to paint in the pine trees just behind the formations. D

Chef's Life  "Shake, Rattle, and Pole (Beans)"  Vivian struggles to scrounge up enough green beans to add to the menu at Chef & the Farmer, where a new chef is firmly in place. Mrs. Tessie Mae gives her a golf cart tour of her garden, an intro to pickled pork and a lesson in snapping pole beans. D

Joanne Weir's Plates and Places  "Tangia"  Journey to Morocco with Joanne and her students as they learn first-hand how to make this humble yet delicious Moroccan stew called a tangia. Back in her California kitchen, we learn how to make a modern chicken tangia. Learn to make the quintessential Moroccan bread. D

This Old House  "Charleston Southern Roots"  A new foundation starts out back while out front Roger determines if a crepe myrtle can be saved. Kevin visits Fort Sumter. The single house mantel and windows are restored and the old kitchen house will be connected to the main house. D

Globe Trekker  "Road Trip: Patagonia"  Zay Harding takes a journey along Ruta 40 by climbing Volcan Lanin, the highest peak in the area. Traveling down the Seven Lakes Drive, he passes through the Lake District in San Carlos de Bariloche, heads next to the former hippie colony of El Bolson, boards the La Trochita steam train, searches for Butch Cassidy's hideout in Cholila and drives on to Trevelin, a town founded by Welsh immigrants that maintains that culture. Zay then makes the long trek to Cueva de las Manos to admire its incredible rock art, reaches El Chalten for the spectacular view of Mount Fitz Roy before the final leg that takes him to the Cabo Virgenes lighthouse, the last stop on Ruta 40. D

Lidia's Kitchen  "A Dinner Party"  Entertaining comes in many forms, and today Lidia creates a menu that is perfect for an intimate gathering of friends and family. This simply elegant dinner menu includes swordfish alla bagnara, a delicately steamed swordfish made with an aromatic mix of lemon, capers and garlic, a traditional dish from the Calabrian town of Bagnara. She also makes a spicy bloody Mary, followed by a classic lagane e ceci, ribbons of fresh pasta made with chickpeas and pepperoncino. D

Tasting expert Jack Bishop challenges Bridget to a sauerkraut tasting. Test cook Bryan Roof uncovers the secrets to a Pittsburg regional specialty, potato-cheddar pierogi. D

Simply Ming  "Chris Hastings"  This week on Simply Ming, Ming is joined by southern Chef Chris Hastings, who has three restaurants in Alabama including the hot & hot fish club and his newly opened Ovenbird. Chris prepares classic southern flavors with his creamy shrimp and grits. Then, Ming cooks Jook, a savory rice porridge, with a brown and white mixed house rice. D

Kitchen Wisdom of Cecilia Chiang  "Last Flight Out of Shanghai"  Less than a decade after fleeing the Japanese, Cecilia now married and with a young family, caught the last flight out of Shanghai as the communist revolution swept over China. The family relocated to Tokyo where, at a dinner for an ambassador, Cecilia got her first taste of raw fish. Cecilia didn't love it and didn't love living as an ex-pat in the land of her former occupiers, so she sailed on the SS Woodrow Wilson into San Francisco to visit her number seven sister. D

Born to Explore with Richard Wiese  "Canada: The Mighty Polar Bear Migration"  Journey with Richard Wiese to the barren wilds of Arviat, Canada where polar bears and the Inuit people live in uneasy harmony. Richard is welcomed into a small Inuit community and discovers how these hunter-gatherers struggle to survive in this inhospitable land and preserve their traditional way of life. Richard explores the frozen tundra and comes face-to-face with magnificent polar bears in the wild. D
