Landscapes Through Time with David Dunlop  "American Impressionists at Lieutenant River, Ct"  David examines the distinctly American style of Impressionism that retained more of a basis of drawing and sketching and more of a reliance on classical forms - all inherited from the Hudson River Painters. He considers the new technologies in paint, new scientific ideas of perception, and their methods for realizing a sensual, personal vision on canvas as he paints a River scene reminiscent of the painting by Childe Hassam called Summer Afternoon. Ellie's Real Good Food  "Teeny Kitchen"  Ellie helps out a couple contending with the challenges of cooking in a tiny apartment kitchen. Ellie proves that with just a few key pans and gadgets, and some smart recipes, anyone can produce fantastic meals in even the most cramped quarters. Recipes: Herbed salmon and orzo casserole with feta; Beef and many vegetable stew; Lemon garlic turkey breast with roasted rosemary potatoes and Brussels sprouts. D

New Scandinavian Cooking  "Fisherman's Harbor"  In the fishing port and holiday resort town of Smogen, on the scenic coast of Southwestern Sweden, Tina visits the local fish auction and fishes for langoustines (lobster) before making a sandwich with herring. For the main course, Tina serves a variety of smoked seafood, lightly heated over the grill. For dessert, she makes strawberries with crunchy breadcrumbs and mint-and-honey-flavored sour cream. D

Destination Craft with Jim West  "Iceland"  Jim West travels to Reykjavik, Iceland where master artisans teach how to make horsehair jewelry, craft items from fish skin, and participatse in one of the largest tapestry projects in the world. He carves items from driftwood and makes beautiful glass products from volcanic ash. Jim also learns about traditional Icelandic costumes and makes a hearty and healthy Icelandic lamb soup. D
