Quilting Arts  "Fabric to Dye For"  Experiment with dyes using water in both solid and liquid states. Quilt artist and dye specialist Cindy Lohbeck uses ice and shibori techniques to dye fabrics with bold new patterns. Textile artist Maggie Vanderweit gathers organic materials and rusted metal to dye with natural pigments that yield fabulous results. D

Paint This With Jerry Yarnell  "Red-Headed Woodpecker, Part 4"  In this final segment, Jerry explains the difference in different colors of red and how and what they are used for in various paintings. He then begins showing how to use certain brushes to apply the different colors and details to the woodpecker's body. He explains the process of layering colors to achieve the desired degree of brightness and detail. D

In this episode, Lidia shares a show stopping meal that consists of bolognese with milk: a traditional beef and pork ragu prepared in the style of bologna; dandelion greens with almond vinaigrette and ricotta salata: a vibrant salad of bitter dandelion greens tossed with a sweet honey almond vinaigrette and salty ricotta salata; pomegranate sorbet: a refreshing sorbet of pomegranate juice and dark rum. America's Test Kitchen from Cook's Illustrated  "Modern Weeknight Meals"  Test cook Becky Hays makes Bridget Lancaster the perfect one-hour broiled chicken and pan sauce. In the Equipment Corner, expert Adam Ried reviews blenders, and then test cook Tim Chin wraps up the episode by making Julia the ultimate modern cauliflower gratin. D

Simply Ming  "Rick Bayless"  This week on Simply Ming is master-chef of Mexican cuisine and Emmy-nominated host, Rick Bayless. Rick has nine cookbooks and owns several restaurants in Chicago including the much-acclaimed Frontera Grill. He is also well-known for his public television series, Mexico One Plate at a Time. D

Food Over 50  "The Weighty Issue of Calorie Counting"  Chef/host David Jackson and resident dietician Elizabeth Kelsey show viewers that healthy calories from whole foods are nothing to stress over and not worth tabulating. But empty calories, from highly refined, over-processed foods, are what we need to scrutinize. David's trio of good calorie - not just low calorie - recipes reflect this fresh and tasty approach with Italian insalata di cavolo, plus stick-to-your-ribs southern-style beans and greens, both whipped up in the studio kitchen. Connect with English  "Negotiations/Photos and Farewells"  While Rebecca and Alberto have breakfast, the garage has towed the car and and tell her the repairs will cost $800, so she sells the car to the garage for $550, and plans to take the bus all the way to San Francisco.G
