Skeletons of the Sahara   University of Chicago paleontologist Paul Sereno, best known for unearthing new kinds of dinosaur bones around the world, found the largest known Stone Age human burial site on a sand dune in Niger. The oldest date from 8,000 to 10,000 years ago was during a time when the Sahara was green and lush. Filmmaker David Murdock follows Sereno and a team of archaeologists as they retrieve, date and identify the bones and the artifacts found with them.G

Rebel: Voces Special Presentation  "Rebel"  This film is the story of Loreta Velazquez, Confederate soldier turned Union spy during the Civil War. She was dismissed as a hoax for 150 years, but new evidence shows Loreta, a Cuban immigrant from New Orleans, was one of an estimated 1,000 secret women soldiers who served during the war between the states.G

Latino Americans  "War and Peace"  The first hour traces the World War II years and those that follow, as Latino Americans serve their new country by the hundreds of thousands - yet still face discrimination and a fight for civil rights in the United States. The second hour reviews the decades after World War II through the early 1960s, as swelling numbers of immigrants from Puerto Rico, Cuba and the Dominican Republic seek economic opportunities.
