One Voice   ONE VOICE tells the story of the Kamehameha Schools Song Contest through the eyes of the student song directors. Every year in Hawaii, 2000 high school students compete in the Kamehameha Schools Song Contest where young leaders direct their peers in singing Hawaiian music in four-part harmony. ONE VOICE shares the thrill of the competition via the personal stories of the student song directors as they experience the trials and tribulations of competition in this annual high school event. D

This documentary film chronicles the stories surrounding the players of an inner-city high school basketball team over the course of a potentially historic season. It is as much about the challenges facing inner-city youth and the public school system, as it is about a school's passion for basketball and a coach's devotion to his players. D

Global Voices  "Chahinaz: What Rights for Women?"  Chahinaz, a 20-year-old student in Algeria, has mixed feelings about the Western world and its values, but she admires the freedom of Western women. Through her curiosity and voyage of self-discovery, Chahinaz begins to wonder what life is like for women in other Muslim countries and around the world and why things are slow to change in Algeria. D

Our Summer In Tehran   The documentary transports us into the seldom seen realm of middle class family life in Iran transcending overt politics in favor of subtle, human, and often humorous moments. Justine, a Jewish-American filmmaker and former host of the travel series GlobeTrekker, takes her 6-year-old son Mateo with her to Tehran where they spend the summer with 3 families: a religious family with ties to the government; a cosmopolitan, secular family; and a single mom who is an actress. When the Iranian government abruptly gives Justine and Mateo 48 hours to leave the country, promising relationships are severed.G

Global Voices  "Team Qatar"  This film follows the journey of five Middle Eastern teens from the world's richest country as they are initiated into the cutthroat subculture of competitive high-school debating. Guided by the 22 year-old former president of the Oxford Union, they direct their immense curiosity and ambition towards mastering the arcane strategies of British parliamentary debate. They are determined to show they are not closed-minded extremists -- and even more determined to win. D
