A Missouri woman, while writing a book about her late brother who was killed in Vietnam, became friends with one of her brother's battalion-mates. The man said he had a diary found on the chest of a dead North Vietnamese after a battle and would like it retuned to the soldier's family. The woman contacted HISTORY DETECTIVES and Wes Cowan with a research team worked for months on the puzzle. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta also became involved.G
