Infinity Hall Live  "Galactic"  The seminal New Orleans band draws inspiration from the cultural flavors of their city streets and their local orbit of southern soul, funk, blues, rock and brass band. From the band's traditional "second line" brass-infused show opener "Sugar Doosie" to the funky bass line and tumbling guitar on "Long Live the Borgne;" to the break in the funk for Paul Simon's "Fifty Ways" with guest Ryan Montbleau, the band showcases their 20-year musical evolution in an electrifying performance. Erica Falls is guest vocalist. D

Austin City Limits  "The Avett Brothers/Nickel Creek"  ACL showcases modern Americana with the Avett Brothers and Nickel Creek. The Avett Brothers perform tunes from their album Magpie and the Dandelion. Nickel Creek highlights their comeback album A Dotted Line.G

Great Performances at the Met  "L'amour De Loin"  One of the most highly praised operas of recent years, which had its premiere at the Salzburg Festival in 2000, Kaija Saariaho's yearning medieval romance L'Amour de Loin ("Love From Afar"), has its Met premiere. The production is by Robert Lepage, co-produced with L'Opera de Quebec, where it premiered to acclaim last summer, in collaboration with Ex Machina. Debuting Finnish conductor Susanna Malkki leads the performance, which stars Susanna Phillips as Clemence, Eric Owens as Jaufre, and Tamara Mumford as the Pilgrim who carries messages of love between them. D
