First, producer Michael Kantor, discusses his new PBS documentary Broadway Musicals: A Jewish Legacy, which examines how Jewish culture and liturgical music helped in the creation of the modern Broadway musical. Also on the program, writer Robert Simonson, and actor Nick Wyman, President of Actors' Equity Association, look back at the first 100 years of the influential performers' union and how it strives to help, not only the situation of individual performers, but also the quality of live theater throughout the country.
