Woodsmith Shop  "Hand Plane How-To"  See the tips, tricks, and techniques for getting perfect results with one or two small hand planes. In this episode, the Woodsmith editors take a look at a couple of their favorites: block planes and shoulder planes.G

This Old House  "Essex 2012/13, Liquid Assets"  Lots of groundwork today, as Roger helps aquatic systems specialist Yorgos Gregory revive a neglected water feature, and drilling expert Roger Skillings is drilling for both a new water well and for geothermal wells. Master electrician Allen Gallant shows Kevin how he bends PVC conduit to run the new electrical service underground over hill and dale. D

Ask This Old House  "Caring for Orchids as Houseplants/Purchasing a Kitchen Wall Cabinet"  Landscape contractor Roger Cook visits a tropical botanic garden to learn how to care for orchids as houseplants. Then, Roger, along with host Kevin O'Connor, plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey and general contractor Tom Silva, asks, "What is it?" Afterward, Tom helps a homeowner purchase and install a kitchen wall cabinet. D

Martin Clunes: Horse Power  "The Servant and the Symbol"  Clunes watches his horse run at a Sussex racecourse, experiences how Britain uses horses for pomp and ceremony, heads to Italy to learn about the 800-year-old Palio horse race, and checks out a knight's armor. Clunes also seeks out ranch and rodeo horses in the western United States, and visits tribes in Central Asia where the culture is reliant on the horse. Part 2 of 2G

NOVA  "Building Pharaoh's Chariot"  A team of archaeologists, engineers, woodworkers and horse trainers builds and tests two accurate replicas of Egyptian royal chariots. Driving them to their limits in the desert outside Cairo, NOVA's experts test the claim that the chariot marks a crucial turning point in ancient military history.G

Outdoor Idaho  "Winter Grit"  Adventure and grit tie together this collection of cold-weather activities captured on camera across Idaho. New Tricks  "Old School Ties"  When the body of young PE teacher Jason Bowe is discovered in woodlands adjoining a prestigious boarding school, the UCOS team is asked to investigate the case quickly and discreetly.
