POV  "Salt"  Photographer Murray Fredericks collaborates with documentary filmmaker Michael Angus to make this film an extension of Fredericks' work on the salt flats of Lake Eyre in South Australia. The film interweaves Fredericks' photos and video diary with time-lapse sequences to offer an infinite dimension of mind and spirit. A selection of shorts follows.G

Norberg examines the contemporary relevance or Friedman's ideas in our time of globalization and financial crisis. D

World Peace and Other 4th Grade Achievements   WORLD PEACE AND OTHER 4TH GRADE ACHIEVEMENTS interweaves the story of a remarkable educator and the extraordinary game he developed to demonstrate the complexities of peace and global conflict. Teacher John Hunter's World Peace Game is a hands-on political simulation exercise in which students tackle real-world military, economic and environmental issues. The nine- and 10-year-olds divide into groups, including nation states, the World Bank, United Nations officials, indigenous peoples and even arms dealers. D

Game Changers   The program tells of a pilot program in to identify high-ability people in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering and math), fund their training at four universities and create new teacher-preparation programs that focus on the skills and knowledge needed in the Information Age. Follow the individuals who received a $30,000 stipend, completed the newly created master's degree program, then worked in Indiana's high-need rural and urban schools.G
