Nature  "The White Lions"  Deprived of protective coloring on Africa's grasslands, the rare white lions born there seldom live to maturity. In South Africa's Kruger National Park, two white sister cubs seem to be beating the odds as cameras follow their family group consisting of their mother, aunt and the aunt's cubs. The two adult females must be extra vigilant and wily to raise their offspring without a male to protect them.G

Wild!  "Creatures of the Black Lagoon"  The Costa Rican rainforest, known as Corcovada, is a complex and fragile ecosystem at the mercy of the world's weather. Into The Wild: Edison, Ford & Friends   Between 1914 and 1924, a group of famous friends - prolific inventor Thomas Edison, pioneering auto-maker Henry Ford, best-selling nature writer John Burroughs, and later, tire manufacturer Harvey Firestone - traveled to the remote reaches of Florida's Everglades in search of a rustic camping adventure far from the pressures of work and the press. Freed from the demands of daily life, the friends and their entourage enjoyed the serendipity of life on the road, stopping to help farmers in the field, examining streams for hydroelectric possibilities or engaging in an impromptu tree-chopping contest. INTO THE WILD: EDISON, FORD & FRIENDS features excerpts from the journals and letters of Burroughs and Firestone as well as interviews with historians and biographers. D

9:30 pm
Edge of the Everglades: Big Cypress National Preserve   On the western edge of the Everglades, beyond the saw grass prairies of the famed River of Grass, lies the cypress-studded marshland known as the Big Cypress Swamp. The vast wet wilderness - once slated to house the world's largest jetport - now stands as a testament to compromise. This film tells the story of the massive, mysterious marshland that inspires deep passions for - and bitter debate about - one of the world's last great wild places.G

America's Wildest Refuge   Tucked into a remote corner of Alaska, the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is a place where wilderness is experienced on an epic scale. From forested lowlands in the south to the towering mountains of the Brooks Range and north to the coastal plains, this is where we can go back in time to see how the earth was before modern civilization. With sweeping views of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, its wildlife, and interviews with those that know it best, Alaska: America's Wildest Refuge is an ecological and historical portrait of this corner of Alaska.
